Question
Hello, you held an open casting for Cassie but according to screenterrier, http://screenterrier.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/god-helpthe-girl-casting-news.html you ended up picking Elle Fanning for that role. Why did you not go with a relative new up coming actress? Was she far better than the rest? Thanks, I'm just asking out of curiosity.Answer
Hi Lizzie, honestly yes, Elle was the best actress we saw for the role so we had to pick her. We were open to casting from professional talent or brand new talent but we had to go with who would be best for our film. The open casting was also for supporting roles but reading the lead character’s scenes.
Hope that explains it a little, casting is tough, we’ve been at it for well over a year!

Question
I was too late to send in an audition tape but I would really like to get involved in the project, I am an actress and do a lot of singing and dancing in my spare time at varies events and dance schools and things. I was wondering if you are still able to submit a video or be an extra during filming? Thank youAnswer
Hello Katie, we are not taking any more videos apart from for Eve through https://letitcast.com/en/castings/2099676305-god-help-the-girl
We will almost certainly be calling for extras during the filming and this will be posted via mailing list / facebook / twitter so join / friend / follow us and you’ll be sure to find out!

Question
Hi, why can people continue to apply for the role of Eve through Let it Cast unitl the 15th April? Is it because you filled the roles for James and Cassie but not her through the open auditions? ThanksAnswer
Hi Terri,
We are pretty sure we have found cast for Cass and James yes. Eve we are still searching for through many channels – letitcast and scouring our open auditions tapes being just 2 of them. It’s a real challenge to find the right actress for this role but we’ll get there…
Thanks GHTG HQ

Question
Hello! This looks like a lovely film, as a matter of interest what era is it set in? Is it the 1960's? Thanks! MAnswer
Good question! It’s set right here and now but the characters and of course Stuart have a great love of 60’s film and music so there will be lots of influences from that era in there.

Question
Hello, I ve been invited to audition via Let it Cast but it would be more convenient for me to send you my videos through Dropbox. Is that possible to send through Dropbox until April 15th? Thank you LaurenceAnswer
I’m afraid not Laurence, for admin purposes (boring but very real!) it’s much better for us that you now audition for Eve through https://letitcast.com/en/castings/2099676305-god-help-the-girl
